NZ doctors unlikely to back genital mutilation →
A 1995 amendment to New Zealand’s Crimes Act made it illegal to perform “any medical or surgical procedure or mutilation of the vagina or clitoris of any person” for reasons of “culture, religion, custom or practice”.
So why is ritual male genital mutilation (ie infant circumcision) still legal?
Wake up call
I’ve been woken up by lots of different suburban sounds over the years. Birds tweeting. Lawnmowers revving. Leaf blowers blowing. Garbage trucks trucking. But this morning my sleep was disturbed by a new sound. The sound of skateboarding.
I mean, I know how important it is to perfect your ollie, kid, but really? Is it necessary to do it at 7:00 am on a Saturday morning?

Little things
In New Zealand vs. In the US
You study Maths, not Math.
In gymnastics you do the splits, not just splits.
The center traffic light is orange, not yellow.
You prepare food on the kitchen bench, not counter.
In the evening you eat tea, not dinner.
